Vertical White is the expression of pure-raw sound, the technological poetry of the accident, irreducible to the song, it is the “sound act” – the error that humanizes the system and transcodes it into a spontaneous, direct non-alphabetic language.
The project explores the sound phenomena that appear through input
randomization using programmed algorithms which generate acoustic signal accidents.
The details of the resulting errors and the structural
artifacts are displayed for their own sonic value and they compel a
close examination of the preconceptions about error, failure, and
detritus/
